Hi guys. What bolts get thead locked on an engine build.

Oil pump
Transfer caseing
Gear box to block
Oil fiter housing
Speedo drive casting
Diff housing and drive flange

Or just dont bother! Never had a bolt come loose yet.

The only bolt I ever locktite is the crank damper retaining bolt, never had an issue {touch wood}.

A couple of quid are you kidding my mate is selling some locktite thread lock. He showed me the trade price list for this sfuff it is astronomical! The bottle I got from work because its like water there cost £89!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nearly wet my self and the smaller eye drop size units are not much better!

id just use a loctite 2701 or 278. 2701 is bout 30quid inc vat and the amount id use would last ages.

Shelf life is pretty indefinate so long as there is air space in the bottle/tube.

It's anearobic (sp?) so doesn't set until it is excluded from air in the tight confines of the threads. That's why the bottles are only half full and why it tends to set around the cap on the bottle but not inside.

My large bottle is also 10 years or more old (also from work!), so old it's loctite 270 (before they re-numbered it 2701).

we bought it about 10 years ago and have just finished it, when we bought it it was about 350quid !!
