Not sure if you can rebuild an n/a one as turbo, but Turbo Phil is listing a genuine Turbo carb on his website. He also stocks genuine rebuild kits.

i converted mine, basically reverse the seals on the n/a carb and either use the 'T' mod/ bypass or drill an air passage i had to change the throttle cable thing too... maybe something else :)

if you use the search button, it has been covered a few times

INIW - when you say "standard" (the one you have now) is it a standard HIF or an HS ?

Your last comment about hard to find an HIF confused me..

I managed to pick up a carb, manifold and plenum on fleabay, was 80quid, but with shipping came to a total of 155quid (excluding import tax), will have to think twice about bringing in stuff. Glad I got the carb, noted quite a few differences between the NA HIF44 and the turbo variant.

That is what I suspected from your first post :)

It has been mentioned on here before but I can't find the thread.

From memory the issues are how to pressurise the float chamber (as it's external rather than integral), fitting the plenum so the restrictor ring still works, and sealing the throttle spindle and possibly the jet itself.

Hopefully someone more knowlegable about carbs will correct me.

I would have thought that the seal between the float bowl and the tube to the jet could be tricky to seal if it was pressurised.
