both my head and block are going to be skimmed when they got to my machine shop so i might aswell dry deck the engine now rather than later.

I am thinking about drilling and tapping the waterways lock tighting some bolts in there and cutting them off, would this do the job well enough or is it too pikey? im trying to keep costs down as much as possible your advice welcome:)

How would you "normally" do it?

Plug and weld the block then get it skimmed???

Normally brass plugs are used (I think) similar to the ones use on the head.

Threaded taper plugs and loctite high stremgth retainer, they will never come out *wink*

BSPT allen grub screw things, I thiink Locktite do high temp hydraulic stuff..

I just tapped mine & used grub screws with loctite, easy & saves having the block skimmed.

Resident Cylinder Head Modifier

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

drill and tap 1/4" BSP use short taperd hex plugs lock tight like the guys state

job done!
