I am the pround owner of a 1960 Mini which I have fully restored, a rare find here in the USA. I found the car abandoned in front of a Scrap Yard about 9 years ago, with a bad battery, no working brakes and a pair of Vise Grips pinching off the fuel line with no fuel pump, and almost no rust (common in the Southwestern USA). I bought it for $ 200 dollars (about 320 pounds sterling), took it home, put in a battery and fuel pump, started it and drove it around with the handbrake! I restored it 8 years ago and it has been a blast to drive. It has a 1430 Motor: Omega forged pistons, Kent 286 Scatter pattern cam, Aluminum head with Rimflo valves, Roller Rockers and 10.5 to 1 compression, twin Hif6's on a steel mManiflow manifold and a Ceramic coated Large LCB with a custom high flow stainless exhaust. I have 11 classic cars and this is one of my favorites. I an 6'2" tall, large build and so we get a lot of looks over hear--especially since classic mini's are a rarety over here (as you know they stopped being brought over in 1967). I will post pictures soon. It was nice having David Vizard over here so close to us but the calls to the UK in the middle of the night (13 hour time difference) was a bitch! I have joined the Forum because I want to build a Forced induction motor now and have some questions.
