does anyone know if the turbo dizzy suffers from any faults or should i look to the coil or wiring?
Allways thought the problem was fuel and would get round to it but since fittng a tacho last wk end ive noticed that the needle hunts all over the place when its missing so asume it has to be ignition. Have cleaned up the dizzy plug but its a bit of a swine as the terminals are so small. All other plugs duely pulled off and on a few times.
Once its revving all seems to be ok.
Any ideas anyone?

Have you serviced your car? New plugs, rotor arm, dizzy cap, coil etc

just to clarify the symptoms, when it starts missing the tacho needle jumps around from 1.5 k to 3.5 ish so im pretty sure its a low tennsion problem.

Low tension, most likely, but a fault with the coil could also affect the tacho - even a fault on the HT side of the coil can reflect back to the LT side as it's essentially a transformer.

On the two pin electronic modules (so I assume the three pin ones are the same as they only use two of the pins) there is an earth tag on the back of the module that earths it to the dizzy body. Might be worth a check. EDIT - should have said earth plate and plug arrangement, not just an earth tag, I was thinking of a different dizzy.....

coil changed, ignition module changed. No change, guess it must be wiring or dizzy.
