These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

It's not a 1970 shell.

King Gaycharger, butt plug dealer, Sheldon Cooper and a BAC but generally a niceish fella if you dont mind a northerner

Rotherham, South Yorkshire

It has the wrong drip rail on the gutter. Pre 76 models have a lower and upper drip rail. Post 76 shells have a single upper drip rail.

Also, the early ones had a single stalk on the right hand side of steering wheel, 2 switches in the centre switch panel and a manual push button for the screen wash (no ellectric pump). The loom is completly different too.

Also in 1970, iirc, they didn't have tear drop front subframe mounts. I think they only started in 1971 (no holes in the lower front panel).

It has the correct grille badge though *oh well*

All that said, it looks like a descent shell...

Twin bolt subframe's up to 76 and hydraulastic suspension up to early 70's (72??)

At the end of the day, it's a solid tax exempt GT. It's not the original shell, but if it was a restored shell, then technically its not the original car anyway.

Go and see it armed with the info here and try and knock his price down *wink*

I just sold a 1975 rot box 998 clubman for £950. I thought I did really well as it was basically a scrap shell with some shiney bits.

What GT bits have you got??

Apart from the badges and the log book I would doubt any part of that car has ever seen a GT or 1970.
It is no more than a 1100 Clubman, if you view it as that then you won't go far wrong.

(It's historic tax free status is a bonus of dubious legality *wink* )

Had a propper read of it. It used to be a poo flake brown 1100 clubman - hense no rust. The brown paint was really rust resistant for some reason.

Looks like a good base for a modified car as it is solid, but isn't a propper rare model and isn't tidy enought to warrent keeping it standard.

Buy it, flog the MPi interior and the shiney bits. Paint a proper colour and drop a turboed motor in it. Bob's your aunty.

My guesstimate is that it is a 1978on car.

Also from the auction questions asked by the sounds of it the car used to be poo brown. How could someone be so callous and change a perfectly good poo brown car to black. *frown*

full interior minus wheel,
rostyles, what i was told is meant to be a gold seal gt motor with carbs,
mk3 rear lights,
pretty much everthing needed to do a GT other than the actual car...lol
