Personally, I crank engines over till I have oil pressure, then crank over for another 30 seconds. That pretty much ensures oil in the turbo... On 17th Nov, 2014 Tom Fenton said:

Right on, Dave, I do it with the head off to see that oil is getting everywhere, and the oil pipe unions loose.I always pack a new oil pump with Vaseline before fitting.Never had a problem with getting full oil pressure right from the first moment. All it takes is the starter motor and some jump leads.( and siome cloths to mop up afterwards !) |

I just crank till the oil light goes out. And thats how my starting system works, the fuel pump wont kick in until the oil light goes out. Own the day
