i was told that if a vehicle is purcahsed with in the european union its not classed as an import, is this true?

after speaking to some guy who didnt sound too sure of what he was saying, he said that if the car was never registered in another country, it is full UK spec, and VW have issued a certificate of conformity the car isnt classed as an import (thank fuck for that).

Dunno if it helps but if its over 10yr old and in the EU there a hell of a lot easier to register than if newer. Dont need certificate of conformity
