This topic has probably has be raised many times before, sorry. But i was wondering what rads other people are running in the front. Pic would nice too if possible.

Ive got an idea of re-mounting the alternator higher up, and a remote oil filter head giving more room. The ali miglia ones seen excessively high price for what it is.

I also have a massive stater motor think its old type for the clutch with a long arm.... if anyone can make sense of that lot! lol

thanks in advance

Metros come in two versions, one with inlet and outlet at the same end, the other with them at opposite ends.

I can't remember which is which, but the one with the pipes at the same end (which is what I wanted) took me ages to track down a new one.

The Mk 1 rad has the inlet & outlet at the passenger side (I have that type) and the Mk 2 Metro had the inlet at the drivers side. Also have plenty of spare pipes for both kinds...

EDIT: I'm going down the expensive alloy route and have an old one for mock up etc

Yes, when I said earlier it took me ages to track a new one down, I should have been more precise..... it took me ages to track down a NOS one off eBay at a sensible price.... :)

I also have new old stock top and bottom hoses, fan switch and a metro expansion tank available seperatly.

End of the month is no problem, it's just sat down the cellar...

Andy,

Have you got a spare set of hoses for the Mk1 that I could purchase, esp. if they are NOS...

I have the radiator but haven't yet sourced any new hoses...

PM me.

Rod.

I am going to try and mount a Vaxuhall Nova 1.2 radiator, the dimensions seem a very close fit to the front panel so I'm hoping not too much needs to be cut away. I personally think using a radiator with the inlet furthest away from the thermostat housing is better if you have an intercooler mounted above the slam panel as it keeps the hose out of the way.

I'm going to try and get hold of a suitable radiator tomorrow so I can see if it's going to be possible.

That Allegro radiator does look the right shape, do you have the measurments for it? I can't imagine it would be easy to find one though.

Vauxhall Nova rads, verious sizes and all ally (excluding end tanks)

They are all pretty much the same length, with a differing choice of hights and thickness. inlet/ outlet one on each end

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

It's the 229mm high one I'm looking to fit, I know it was fitted to some of the 1.2s but not all of them. There is also one with the same measurments but it has the inlet and outlet at the same end. The Valeo parts catalogue has good information on all the different types but the link seems to be too long to post here.
