I fancied playing on the lathe over the weekend so decided to turn up a dizzy blanking plug for the clubby:

A bit of round stock

Cut down to size, note the home made nut holding the cutting post to the table.

Turned down to about the right size

Checking to see if it fitted, don't want to have to force it in there.

Boring it out to get the weight down, every little helps.

Used an off cut of CF for make a securing bracket, hopefully lighter than the original steel one, also CF is nice and springy which should help to hold the plug in place.

The finished product, seem to do the job and is nice & light to boot, sorry about the last picture it would appear that I made it too shinny & my camera phone couldn't cope.

Well, if you had thought about it, you could have made it a tollerence fit, then you dont need the bolt or the carbon fibre. Makes it a bit lighter.
Mind you making it a losse fit means that you are not infringing copy rights, as there is no need to hammer the bloody thing home

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

Going to go for a good old o ring.

The lack of guards means there's no mirco-switchs to over ride.

I haven't the faintest clue what speed, my lathe was built before the concept of cutting speeds was invented, the big pulley goes off to a massive tread mill with a donkey on it. I keep meaning to rig up a rev counter using a 36 -1 timing disc & an EDIS module but I haven't got round to it yet.
