Ive just bought a metro turbo lump less gearbox, am I right in thinking I can just use say an A+ 998 etc. gearbox, I will be rebuilding it with a minispares straightcut gear kit anyway, does it matter what gearbox I use?

yep thats fine, the 998 should hopfully have less wear on the bits you will reuse like the layshaft, and main shaft.

only thing to look out for is how many bolts hold the main bearing retainer on 3 or 4, the 3 bolt cases are stronger. On 28th Aug, 2011 Kean said:

So the DAM2886 box is not a good way to go?
