Check that the clutch is OK and both crank seals. Leave out the 7 o'clock wok bolt. New engine mounts & steady bushes if they show any signs of deterioration. Paint engine.

Horndean - Near Portsmouth

7 o'clock being one round from 6 o'clock - clockwise haha.

The bolt holding the wok to the transfer casing in the bottom left corner, which is a pain to remove with the engine in situ, just makes life easier if you have to remove the wok with the engine in.

Just check for leaks, clean it up a bit etc

I bet my first wank came quicker than your first mini turbo

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

i think this all depends on how far your willing to go.
starting with the basics id replace the diff pin and planet gears as if the diff goes bang it will probobly take the box casing with it, also a selector rod upgraded seal thingy would be a good idea. id also see if the gearbox double bearings started to disintigrate, if you turn the gearbox over while its out of gear and you hear ball bearings rattle around then its very dead *indifferent*
however if you want a engine you can really rely on then puting a central oil pickup pipe and new big and main bearings would be a good start
