Hi, all of the threads i have read said that the best suited sized turbo for the mini is the T2, which is fitted to the R5GTT which is water cooled. How does this T2 differ from the ones fitted to RS Fiestas and Escorts?

But i also read that the new GT turbo will also fit, is it true? what new cars are these fitted too?

I just need to know where i can get a turbo, so i can start my install!

What about turbo's that are fitted to Turbo Diesels, like the Ford Mondeo they are cheap and plentiful and no one will care if they go missing! what type are they?

the escorts have T3's, and the T2 on the Fiesta has a 3 bolt fixing pattern so is not suitable

turbos for diesels are differetnt and gernerally do not work well in petrol applications.

what about te new GT Turbo's? i read somewhere that u could use these?

They are fitted to newer cars

Does anyone know about these?

check out the ebay links on this site. there is a GT15 suitable for mini use in there.

I just checked it out and it said that it was removed from a turbo diesel so now im confused, cos you guys said i can't use one off a diesel

i reckon people have said they are no good because they are 'specc'd' for use with diesel engines etc no with petrol engines

i know they use them on quite a few turbo projects, such as motor bikes etc, the GT15 has to be one of the most commonly used turbo's at the minute, it seems to suit quite a wide range of engines

I wouldn't worry about using a Turbo off a diesel. My mates used a diesel Turbo for the last 3 years on his Mini, no probs !
