I've had the worst time with mini mania. They're very rude, at least to me, and they have sent me the wrong item 5 times.

How did they send you the wrong thing 5 times?

I bet my first wank came quicker than your first mini turbo

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

I ordered a pot joint(both sides) so I could put new axles in my mini, and they sent them out. First time, right pot joints, wrong axles. second time they sent wrong axles (they sent axles for a mk1 mini) yes, two sets of wrong axles. Then when I got the axles the pot joints were not clicking into place like they should, so I sent them back for new ones(that's three wrong items), then they sent me back the non-working pot joints saying they were fine, didn't work(that's 4) so I sent them back again requesting a refund and they said they would send different ones instead, those were finally right, so I guess 4 times, not 5, I miscounted. The last set they sent me worked perfectly.

I do have to say, there are a few of them that work there that are delightful to work with, but if you get Don on the phone, I think he's the owner, it's awful. He thinks he's god of minis.

Mania has it's problems... which is why there are a number of small outfits chipping away at their "premier position" in the US spares market. Some of it has worked.

Try emailing staff@minimal-motoring.com next time - they may be able to help.

Sure you should be buying this stuff in USA?? For all but the largest items I found Minispares UK cheaper, even with the shipping. In most cases I order Sunday and have the parts here on the East coast by Thursday.

Moss Motors also do Mini parts now. Prices still high though..
Another place to check out is GBcarparts.com, they have the basic parts at lower costs.

EDIT--Ahhh no pot joints available. But in theory pot joints are 30 each, shipping 2 is 35 making 95 quid.. thats $140 -- $60 cheaper than the $200 MiniMania want before shipping.. And guess where they get all their stuff?? Yes you guessed it.. MINISPARES.

Yep, I know. I saw the same thing with the quadoptic light kit. Minimania wants $150 before shipping, minispares is 50 before, $99(american) out their door and to mine. I've been buying from overseas for awhile, as I found it cheaper, the last time I used them it was because I thought it would move quicker being in the states, but it wasn't. I think minimania's floor pan is cheaper than most places though...

Did you look at Moss??

http://www.mossmotors.com

If you use my mates website he gives a discount on Moss stuff. though shipping from the east coast may make it a wash..

I've bought stuff from Minimania on several occasions and been very satisfied with both the products and service.

As always, anecdotal evidence can be unreliable, but do these sort of people not realise that a few bad comments like those above can taint their entire reputation ?

Fine, but I think others deserve to know what some of us have been through with this firm.
