Mini has developed a problem:(. Under boost, whether it's at 10psi or 20psi, between 5-10 secs of wide open throttle, the mixture goes lean from 12.5:1 to right off the scale. So far, I've pulled the carb, checked the little gauze which was clean and checked the height of the float, which is set at 1mm below the level of the base. I've checked and cleaned the pump prefilter and I've replaced the plugs. None of the above have cured the problem. My thoughts are it's a fuel starvation problem as it comes onto boost O.K. then shuts down after a few seconds. The next step is the fuel pump I guess, can anyone confirm what I'm thinking or is there somthing else I've over looked. Forgot to mention that the regulator is set 3.5 psi at idle and rise uniformly withe boost. |

If you have the part throttle lean off pipe fitted check it for holes. A pin prick in this pipe will cause exactly what you are describing.
