After attempting to get my 318i running after a year of neglect I began diagnosing what is wrong with it. I had to rewire the fule pump as I ran it for months with a wanked pump that had no strainer and melted some wires. I have continuity between the ECU and the relay, continuity between relay and pump, permanent live to the relay and earth to the relay.
However, my ECU is not sending the supply (prime on ignition) to the relay. I took the ECU cover off to check if I had continuity from terminal side (which I do) and I noticed this corrosion whilst I was there. Could this be the reason that I am not getting power to the relay? It is on the pins of what looks like a processor

Quite possible.

I had a call out to a job in York a couple of weeks ago and the analog input board on this machine looked pretty much the same. Even after cleaning it up it was still fooked. I knew this but the customer was having none of it.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

The ECU is directly below the battery, although inside the car. The battery in my car didn't have a plastic tray under it and it corroded. Once it corroded all the way through the body it allowed water and possibly battery crap to leak onto the ECU. It was the side facing upwards that suffered so badly. That's what seemed to happen anyway.
I just know I won't be putting my Omex ECU there when I turbo it
