Not very sunny swanage

not currently insured, but i got some quotes the other week..... fully comp agreed value of ?4k, 5k miles adrian flux and hic both came in around the 550 mark. 22 3 yrs no claims, no accidents, no convictions

edit..... perhaps i better say this is for a turbo 1976 car with all mods declared, kit, cage 120bhp motor, wheels and a shit load of other stuff

Edited by nutter driver on 9th Dec, 2004.

And on the 7th day........... God created turbochargers!

that aint bad, i must say hic are really good, i had an escort rs1700t replica, 1900 cvh (173bhp) all declared 5k value, 5k miles, and they only wanted ?330,

am 23 but it was put on a classic policy, so no ncb was applied

Does your ncb not count on a classic policy then?

apparently not no. doesn't bother me though. i got the same quote by the same company, but on a regular policy and it came in at just over ?900, and the difference is well more than the couple of years ncb was worth. problem is you lose the ncb after 2 years if you dont use it. but if your always on a classic policy, you dont need it really.

catch 22 i guess

maybe they were trying to pull a fast one on me then, cos they swore blind i couldn't use them. like i say, it didn't really bother me cos the quote was so much cheaper,

Stu from Corwall aka Mr Jazz Piano, Love_Machine, kneegrow

I found out that my heroes, Footman James don't consider NCB, so when I went for a normal policy, they said "??????". Footman James said that they were OK with mods but cranked the price up a treat when I told them my plans. The woman said she couldn't quote me on the phone. When the paperwork turned up, it said "Engine capacity=998cc". So she had really been listening. Maybe it was a misprint.

?260 Fully Comp, Me 27, car stored in fort knox, out in the sticks, stripped out, 6point cage, wide wheels, complete suspension replacement and mods (non-hydro), 1966 Morris Cooper, Engine should (EVENTUALLY) produce a whole lot of power. Around the 120hp at the wheels.

Since my premium was ?113.26 (Fuckin' ay) I assume they catered for my mods. It can't be that cheap though.

Stu (gradually getting there gradually)

Bugger off, I'm getting there.

you can't use them on more than one policy, so if you've got another car, they cannot be shared..
