anyone know which way round the mpi fan was as std?

just fitting a chink rad and i've got an mpi fan. i used to have it on the front of me metro rad blowing through but i might be able to squeeze it behind now and have it sucking.

which way will work better?

Can you actually run the fan backwards (to suck instead of blow) ???

I've not seen the MPI one but if it's a brushless DC motor driving it, the answer may be no....

Even if you could run it backwards, if the fan blades have any sort of aerofoil shape, it would be wrong in reverse.

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

it can be wired up backwards and seems to shift just as much air either sucking or blowing.

there is an arrow on it showing the diection of rotation though so whether it'll like going in reverse for any length of time i've no idea.

cheers for the pic taz :)

They are mounted in front of the rad.

Turning it round is unlikely to work as you reverse the pitch of the blades.

Can you pop it apart and swap the fan round?

right, the mpi fan just isn't cutting it being used as a sucker as everyone said but was worth a try.

looking at a couple of ebay, is there much difference between straight and curved blades?
