Has anybody replaced the selector rods with something lighter? I picked one up the other day and was surprised how heavy it was. Added to that on the TT we use allegro rods as they are longer and move the stick back and you get a heavy piece of kit. What about an ally or PTFE rod?

I do realise that moving the selector inside removes one rods, but I don't like the idea of moving the selector inside, no particular reason, just don't fancy it.

So have you just matched the steel diameter rod with the same in ally?

Yes Ben.

I use standard engine mounts and rod end tie bars to hold the engine still, the rod change selector box (under the tunnel) is solid mounted and Ive done away with the other rod.

I seriously doubt it!

where could I go about getting an alloy rod to suit my KAD internal linkage kit? it's got a standard thread one end, and a reverse thread on the other end.....

I have an idea for you lot,

Buy a carbon fibre tube and glue in steel inserts. Light and stiff at the same time.
