I have Yoko A032 in 165/70R10 and Yoko A048 in 165/55R12 here.
The outer diameter of the 12" Yokohama A048 is minimum smaller than the 10" Yoko A032.

AND, the "profile width" of the 165 Yoko A048 is wider than the one of the A032.
So, more contact area to the road surface for the AO48.

Concerning weight (the same scale):
165/70 R10 Yoko A032: 5.280 gr
165/55 R12 Yoko A048: 4.960 gr

Would be interesting to get the weight of CARL's new 12" wheel ... and to compare it with his 10" wheels.

MAYBE a 12" wheel/165 tyre combo would come up as light as
a 10" wheel/tyre combo?

Concerning 12" wheels in old classic 10" Mini production years ..... I have a set of RONAL 6,5" x 12" (offset/ET 12mm) with original Mini 4" PCD built in June 1970 for use with DUNLOP race tyres 3.75/8.00-12 CR84 mk2

I try to attach some pictures
(one for carl & vegard ....guess which)

regards

After numerous enquiries from historic racing competitors looking for a lighter wheel, we are now in the process of producing tooling to allow us to manufacture our 3 piece wheels in 12".

Numerous, is that because I've sent you two e-mails?? *happy*

What style are the centres going to be in? 10" or 13" or something new?

The first ones are being done in the 8 spoke pattern as per the 10" wheels, but thats not to say the 13" style won't also be possible.

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

Coddington had been hospitalized December 31, 2007 shortly after New Year's Eve. (?)[14] He was discharged, but was readmitted just a few days later to Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital in suburban Whittier, California.
After being readmitted, doctors performed surgery and Boyd was expected to make a complete recovery. Coddington died on February 27, 2008. His publicist stated that Coddington was a long-time diabetic who died from complications that were brought on from a recent surgery along with liver and kidney complications.[15]

Translates as:- "Rare one wheel has been rebuilt stock cars only. 5J-10 is the size"
