I have the Turbo gearbox casing that was in my Sprint for 7 years with SCCR set which I was going to put standard gears into for my daily but Im now sticking with the 3 sync.

Im thinking of putting the bare casing on ebay but dont know a decent price for it.

Its stress relieved about 1kg lighter than it was originally but will only suit a car with internal linkage or semi solid mounted engine as the lug for the second rod has been machined off the diff case.

Any ideas?

Paul

I seriously doubt it!

Once you specify that it's "lightweight" then it would definately bump up the price. I think you should get a standard diff housing though as it will open up your potential market alot more. You could always break out the red paint too!
I think you would get about £50 with a standard diff casing

I wouldn't mix and match diff casings.

They're cast with the gearbox casing, so should be kept as a matched pair.

They are indeed machined as a pair but it may not be as bad as it seems.....

6-8 months ago I was struggling to find a DAM5626 casing on eBay (the later ones with the stronger web and only 3 bolt holes) so settled for a casing without housing and (from someone else) the housing.... When assembled the line boring matched (ie, the holes were circular) and the face was out by 0.010" on one side only, an easy fix.

As for price, I eventually got a complete casing for £35 (the mismatched bits were about £30 together).

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

Paul speak to Stuart, as i seem to remeber his casing being alittle tired on the Cox at the last strip down so might be worth a word with him.
