I?ll bought a AE Turbo forged 18cc dish piston set, First of all i?ll had too rebush the Small end of the conrod to fit the smaller piston pin, and now when i started to assembling the engine the piston seems to be 6,2 mm shorter than the original 1275 piston which means that the pistons will not reach top of the cylinder and i?ll getting to low Compression Ratio. What should i do? Tobias |

could it be that because the gudgeon pin is smaller that the piston is lower in the bore... try calculating the compresion ratio... it might not be a bad thing... just a thought |

1275 turbo pistons with smaller diameter piston pin ? Are these pistons actually for a A-series engine ? What?s the diameter of the pin ? I don?t see any point in a forged piston that has a smaller than std diameter piston pin. |

Also, there is no problem in milling the block 6mm. On 13th Jul, 2012 Ben H said:
Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem. |
