Hi people! just a quick hello and to introduce myself!

my name is Ollie im 19 at the mo and addicted to boost!

i first got into minis when i was 10 and used to race a tuned 998 mini round a local track till i was 16


and decided to sell up and move onto my road car where i got this8-)



i started using it when i past my test its a 1293cc with rolling rockers,SC drop gears,high lift cam etc etc (you know all the usual stuff) but being 17 and being paid not much i was filling it up daily! and paying 1500 for insurance! When it got to winter i started thinking maybe i should slow it down a tad and get something cheaper to run and usable so i ended up buying this

but i then got bored or well being boring and was earing a tad more it turned into this! (maybe not to some of your likes but hey!)

and this is where i found the love for boost!! i fitted a 1.4 turbo engine to it and i didn't stop there as you can guess! i started fitting all sorts giving it 170bhp

this went on for about a year and half with the mini being off road till now when i have been using it for last 4mouths and the tax is running out in December where it will be coming off the road again over winter*frown* now ever since i got the mini back it was as you can guess a tad down step in power! so i have been doing a lot of thinking and decided that the mini will be going turbo! so hopefully you will see a project thread popping up sometime soon!

i have put together a spec i would be aiming for which i was hoping some of you could tell me good bits and the bad!

T2 with mirage manifolds etc
OMEGA +20 10 CC
Duplex timing chain
front mounted intercooler
avonbar cam (need to pick one as of yet)
fuel regulator
x-pin diff
Turbo clutch
i still need to look into heads but i think theres a guy on here that builds them?
and also all the other lil parts like, high speed water pump,rad,carb,brakes etc etc

as i said mini will be coming off the road in December so im hoping to get cracking then!

Thanks guys.

Iv have just blown up another clutch on the mini so i will need to put another clutch in soon.

obviously its going to be uprated due to it going turbo in couple months but was just thinking would it be worth going one up from a turbo clutch or can the turbo one take allot of power anyway (say 150?) as would be aiming around 120 mark when built

the fiat is a 2nd car as i needed a cheaper car at the time due to needed to travel to slough couple times a months etc

a warm welcome!

go pre vertro clutch double grey cover AP race plate and machine 1.5mm off each of the 3 lugs on the backplate as advised by turbo daves modd.

if you budget will run to it minispares ultralight flywheel backplate is well worth it, you will also need pre vertro arm, thrust bearing and the rest of the small nick nacks bolts etc ..... contact minispare north ask for richard straight service no bull quick delivery

hope this helps

the vertro clutch in standard trim or the so called uprated turbo one wont cut the mustard!
