Is there any set turbo size formula for a given engine capacity?
Might throw one on my van. Seems diesels have smaller turbos than pretrol equivalents.

Turbo size is more related to HP figure rather than engine capacity. The proper way to size a turbo is to calculate the airflow your engine requires at the desired boost pressure and check it off a compressor map.
