Hi

I have just started assembling the clucth etc and I dont thing I have everything I need?

I have bought a new plunger, longer arm and release bearing but it appears I need a spring and a couple of plates to hold it?

Also the 7/16 nut and bolt, nut how long does this need to be?

Also what goes on the inside of the housing, i.e. the release bearing locates on the end of the plunger but does anything else go on here?

Any pics would be great.

Thanks

Jon

the spring and plates you dont need to bother with, they just make ajusting it more dificult.

the 7/16 bolt needs to be about 1.5" long i think, just get the longest you can and cut it down if you need to.

the release bearing goes on the plunger and is held on with a serrated clip,

thats it really.

How does the clucth return if there is no spring?

Also what is the serated clip?

Thanks

The serated clip holds the release bearing onto the plunger.

The preasure plate inside the wok pushes the plunger out when your foot isn't on the pedal, forcing the arm to retun.

I have looked on minispares and cannot find the clip, could any one post the link?

Also I dont have the large nut that goes on the outside of the plunger, can i just use a normal nut the same size or does it have to be a special one?

Thanks

Jon

I still have the list of all the pre-verto bits I had to get off minispares so I had the part number saved

I have used a press to put the release bearing on to the end of the plunger.

I am not sure how to fit the clip though, the bearing does not seem to go on far enough for the clip to locate, how much of the plunger should be showing out past the bearing as i just have the chamfer, thats about it.

Thanks

Jon

stoke-on-trent

some of the new plungers are an interference fit, check you haven't got one of the new types before you try to fit the clip

It appears I have one of the new ones so is a push fit, meaning i dont need the clip at all.

Anyone need the clip as I now have one spare.LOL!

Thanks
