Hi, does anyone know what the metro turbo challenge cars in class 'c' were allowed to run as their compression ration & head spec. Or does anyone know any good web-sites that detail specifics of these cars. Any help would be appreciated. Simon. |

I believe it's 8.5-1, I'm sure our resident racer John Flanigan will be able to confirm.

Sorry, should have said about this when I wrote this down. I bought this engine http://www.turbominis.co.uk/forums/index.php?p=vt&tid=308354 As I am building a supercharged engine. I was basically going to have one of my spare turbo engine built, just like this one, but then it came up for sale. I went to take a look and it is as described, so bought , which saved a fair bit of money over paying for all the work. However the guy selling was really not sure about what the CR was, so I tought if I have to open the chmabers up a bit more it's not the end of the world. I think I will have to then, as this sounds a bit high. It's running the standard exhaust valves alright, but the inlets look bigger. I will take some pics and attach to the post to see what everyone else thinks. |

Get a gauge and just do a compression test instead of pulling the head off. On 24th Dec, 2008 Nic said:

Get a gauge and just do a compression test instead of pulling the head off. That wont tell you anything though. It will just give you a pressure. To find out the ratio it is easiest to pull the head off On 12th Nov, 2009 Paul S said:

You won't be able to tell the size of the chambers from a picture though ?
