I have just bought a 998 for my mrs and i want to get a bit more oomph out of it as opposed to fitting a turbo as she cant dive my turbo lol

I am thinking about fitting a 12g940 head and a MD276 cam to it, it will have the HIF44 on it iswell but what im after knowing is....how deep will i need to mill out the block for allow for this cam....and how needed is it to pocket the block (what happens if i dont surely the valves wont foul the block????

if you get the right combination of parts apparently you can put a 940 on without pocketing the block, but TBH i'd always pocket the block if i was doing this, it can leave the option for a skim if needed.

the lift of the 276 is around 280 thou on std rockers, a gasket is approx 30 thou, you need to measure the depth of the valve in the head, take this from 250 thou, this should be how deep the pockets need to be, add a bit to be on the safe side...
