Hey Guys,
I've previously had 2 desktops and 2 laptops all sharing files (and printers) in my home.
Today i decided i would finally format one of them, but after reinstalling xp, i can't seem to get it to share files anymore.
If i go to 'My Network Places', on any of the 3 untouched machines, i can see the shared folders of any of the 3 machines. I can't see the shared folder of the recently formatted pc. Also if i go to 'My Network Places' on the formatted machine, there are no shared folders visible.
I can ping the IP addresses of all pc's from all pc's including the formatted one, i can also ping all pc's by computer name, i just can't see them in the network places folder. Also i cannot access the shared folders by going to 'Run' and typing \\computer_name
Clearly I've missed something out, as previously all four connected up fine.
Any body got any ideas??
