Seriously, why? There is no wiring either by the pedal or the clutch arm, and no matter what I waggle with the wiring I can't find the dodgy connection.

Arrrrrggghhh!

Because you're listening to Radio 4 or playing some dodgy 80's music from the CD..... *happy*

Seriously though, the feed wire to the standard radio is up behind the heater pipes so maybe one of the pipes moves when you press the cluch pedal.

I reckon your clutch master cylinder objects to "Steps" and so is cutting the power in protest. You had better buy some better CD's before the brake master cylinder joins in.....

The action of pressing on the pedal slightly raises your blood pressure, which when combined with the friction you get in the groin area temporarily distracts your brain to your tool and cuts off your hearing.

CD? not likely, tapes baby.

I'll try some S-Club Juniors instead of Steps and see what happens

Wow this thread goes back a long way.

Well after nearly 12 months of the problem getting steadily worse, but never failing completely (forcing me to fix it) I decided to sort it out. Anyway the S-club juniors tape had pretty much had it and hadn't changed anything!

Now the fix is of no benefit to anyone else as it's Sabre Sprint specific but I'll tell you all anyway.

Basically everything in the dash is earthed to a metal dash bar that also supports the steering column and pedal box. It turns out that the bar was not earthed very well to the battery (being a GRP shell). A new wire between the bar and a bonding point and all sorted.
