hello new to the site and i got a few questions.

i bought a bunch of spares and i have a fully running 1275 would i be able to put a turbo head, turbo, and carb onto a standard 1275 block or do i need to change the pistons?

i have been advised on checking the compression ratio but i do not understand how,

also i was told there are a few things that need to be done to the 1275 before the turbo is bolted on such as a centre main strap i am unsure what else what is needed but am i correct in thinking a centre main strap is needed?

it is possible to put the parts onto a std metro engine, but i would not advise running much boost without changing to some more durable pistons,

to measure the compression ratio you need to remove the head and check the volume of the combustion chamber by filling it with liquid, you will also need to chech the voulme of the dish in the pisons if it is unknown,

with a turbo a copmression ratio of around 8.5-1 will enable a decent amount of boost,

the centre main strap is not essential in my opinion, certainly its worth adding when an engine is rebuilt, but its not worth worrying about in most cases.

they are completely standard 1275 pistons and all the internals are standard
