Morning Folks . Names Lee live in Dewsbury West Yorkshire .. just Got A Clubby 1293 Turbo .. But the guy that built it ..didnt really know what he was doing so i have been told .. high compression engine running 8psi .. on the way home she went BANG ... so now i really need some hands on help with this . lost me job 5 weeks ago and need a car for work .. so i need her up and running asap . i have been told by ART Engineering in wakefield that i have cracked a piston . i have huge crank case compression .

gonna need pistons me thinks . low compression +020"


Any help Would be greatly Appreciated .

Welcome Lee.

Sounds like a melted piston to me, only way to know for sure it to whip it out obviously.

Have a good read throught beginners section of the site and use the search button, you will find all you need to know.

As a side note, I really wouldn't post your email address on an open forum, the spam bots will love that. Also, I would suggest reducing the size of your signature, as it is a little on the extreme side.

With standard compresion (9.4:1) 8 psi is no problem. Infact at 10:1 ir shouldn't be a problem if the ignition and fuelling is ok, plus an efficient IC.

Work out the CR and make sure you sort if if necessary
