Anyone got a good one going spare?

Thanks for the offer Paul but I think I would rather hold out for a genuine one.

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

The diesel is a bigger trim. Not sure if there are any other physical differences. Do you have a picture of it? I know you were trying to sell it a bit back.

I am lead to belive the turbine wheel is made from a different material. They have a different heat range.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

The pukka GT1752 with the 0.47 AR was only ever used on the SAAB and only for a short time. The GT1752H is used on the Iveco or Renault 2.5 TD engines with a 0.55 AR

There are other GT1752s fitted on Bently, Nissan (0.53 AR), and Hyundi (0.44 AR). But i have not seen one from any of these, not knowing which car or engine, petrol or diesel.

Check the Turbomaster website

Would the different material be ceramic Sprocket?
I was under the impression that petrol engines could use ceramic turbos but diesels cannot as the massive exhaust temps will melt the rear impeller.

So I guess it's not ceramic youre talkin about then *oh well*

Ceramic materials generally have a much higher melting point than metals though.

Diesel engines run with a much lower exhaust temp. Therefore it is said that manufacturers save a bit of money by using lower grade cast for the exhaust turbine housing. It would seem that many people have in fact run diesel turbos on petrol cars (knowingly or not) and I have not seen anybody putting turbo failures down to material (I have limited info though).

That fact that all T2s for petrol have cracks and contune to work fine makes me think that diesel turbos will be fine, unless you plan to do 100k miles.

Yep, thats the one, its not the turbine wheel as I suggested. You are right that it is the turbine housing. It looks like petrol turbos have a higher Nickle content to resist the high temperatures petrol engine exhaust systems are exposed to.
