I have no pics but there is a lot that can be removed.
If you have a cage that the steering column can bolt to you can remove everything backwards of the pivot pin.

Paul

I seriously doubt it!

Sounds like youre really on a mission, we'll see how much difference it makes to your times next year. 12.9 1/4 is the times to beat on road tyres.

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Whilst on pedal boxes, i drove the vaux mini for the first time the other day. it has an allspeed pedal box (converts to cable clutch) and the layout is the same as the mini. It still uses a mini throttle pedal.

My seat is mounted on the floor behind the cross member and i found the pedal postion shocking!

I had to push down rather than forward.

How have people got round this who have mounted their seats lower? I may have to raise the seat.

The mig had a custom pedal box and the pedals started vertical and went forward, these i guess (if looking from the side like a clock) are about 4 (whereas the others 6 if you get me!)

This means a down movement before a forward one.

Mines going to go on a diet as well, weights 670 at the minute with full tank etc.

Has anyone used the Optimum Balance Pedal Boxes?
Im thinking use them, or just design my own, they seem pretty simple to do, just work out a few forces and a few lengths.

Iain, our seat is mounted very low and we use a standard set of pedals with no problem. Looking at your pedals though I though that they look different to normal, slightly higher.

Without measuring and having both together it will be difficult to judge.

i'm going to have to do something. I did think of reangling the actual "pedal" part.

I'll have a good look when i get home, i'm sure i can figure something out.

Although like i say, the throttle was just as bad and thats a std mini one. Maybe it has been altered to match the others or something.

I'll maybe measure from the floor to the pedal or something and get peoples comparisions.

Actualy our throttle is a bit of a pain, but the rest are ok. I plan to mod the throttle pedal over the winter. I'm not sure why the throttle has changed, it used to be ok.

I reckon if you just changed the angle of the pedal part of the pedal (if you get what I mean) that would help.

The rear of my seat is 1/2" from the floor, the front of the seat is 1" behind the crossmember. The standard pedals work perfectly for me with this setup.

Yeah it just seems that the edge of the pedal digs into the soul of my shoe and makes it harder to be smooth.

Not so much of a problem on the clutch as its only when pressing down, rather than up but a pain on the throttle.

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

5'11"

My feet are almost straight like this, getting weight down in the car and backwards.
Perfect driving position for the track.

Have to say both the mig and the clubby have the seat behind the cross member and reaching the pedals is no issue for me at 5' 9

When you sit in the car without it moving you think you cant really see enough as your used to being able to see the bonnet's of cars, but in all honestly when driving you dont notice at all as your looking much further forward (or atleast you should be!!!)
