I’m off down the scrappy at the weekend and whilst I’m down there would like to try and get a new fuel tank. I was planning on go for an alloy tank but after seeing the below tank at the L2B this year, I quite like it and thought it would be worth a look when down there.

Does anyone have any idea what the tank might be from or what car I can get a similar size / shape one from. I have been having a good search around on the net but all tanks for modern cars are crazy shapes to fit around all the other parts and save on space.

Any ideas will really help as I don’t think they will be the easiest thing to be looking for.

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

me too! really neat.

although i'm guessing for the price of a new midget tank you could get an alloy one.

No, the filler neck is in the wrong place & the fuel take off is on the bottom of a midget tank.

Personally I think it's a crap solution. In what way is it an improvement over the standard tank?

The is less boot space, and what there is is less useable, there is also no space for a spare wheel.

However, seeing as there is a beginers cross in the boot I assume it's a race car, so all of the above is unimportant. But all the brackets look heavy to bodge it in. There are better solutions.

They've cut the boot floor out, so technically there is no where to put anything now as it would all just fall out of the bottom...

I like nic's tank. It fits nicely in the spare wheel well.

Thanks Guys.

Dosent looks like a tank I will be finding down the scarp yard then. No worries, will revert back to an alloy tank.

I had always planned on an alloy tank but after seeing this thought it may be a cheaper alternative.

Cheers
