Has anybody on this site made up internal brackets for a smooth fibreglass bootlid?

over on theminiforum i read a build thread last week a guy used bonnet hinges in the boot, look up alot of space in the boot but gave a good sweep of movement

Yeah i have. My skin has some stainless strip about an inch wide that i have bent to a hook shape and bonded to the skin. It wont hinge though its removable the top is held with pins. Ron

Im tryin to keep mine flush ,so i need to hinge it some how internally and im using a solinoid to look and open it.

Hi Mickey

I have only just fitted mine. I made some Z shaped bracked to slot over the bottom lip (including rubber trim) and then used Dzus fastners for the top corners.

This is only a single skin boot so not too sure how it would fair with the weight of a double skin or steel boot lid.

I have a few pics below but let me know if you need more details or pics.
