I'm looking at insuring the miglia as its worth quite a bit and has no locks or keys (or engine yet but we're getting there).

How do you guys insure the strip/track only cars as i've spoken to a few companies and once you say its not road legal they wont insure it, are there any specialist companies you recommend?

I bet my first wank came quicker than your first mini turbo

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

I used richard egger to insure mine. They were really helpful, good to deal with and the price was good as well.I have storage and transit insurance but if you have a look on their website they do all sorts of race/competition car policies.

I also tried competition car insurance who were also good to deal with and helpful but their price was a bit higher than richard egger.

Incidentally i had similar trouble as you with supposed specialist insurers that they wouldnt quote even if it was road legal because it was built to miglia spec.

As above really, I also use Richard egger, but have used competition car insurance in the past.

I pay around £180 a year iirc

Carnforth, Lancs

I use David Auden. OK it is for a road rally car but that could be just the ticket - mine has to be road legal.
The poicy gives an agreed amount of 'normal' mileage at fully comp and then event insurance, for you case you just don't use the event insurance!!
