Rick - I agree, in reality a rwd car would have been nice but I like small darty cars - strange that! and this RS is the best of the breed, the only other hatch I like was the MK5 GTI Golf but it just didn't have the special feel to it. Yes its a Sep 03 car so late on in the build - number 3021/4501, 1 owner very low mileage(original brakes/rear tyres!) car has a mountain of concours trophies with it and was owned by the guy whom probably knows more about the RS than anyone else. We were at Ford Fair back in Aug I saw this car from 50m away and knew that was the one to have, amongst the others there it just stood out. Just need the roads to dry out so I can drive it again.lol

the trick with the Focus is it has acceptable damping and ride control on normal roads as well as amazing grip and precision on the twisties - something the minis can't compete with in both real world and performance terms If Carling made Mini engines

Now I've got myself a van, I can do without a tow car, (although they are bloody handy) I'm very tempted to flog my mondeo st and get a focus RS in the new year On 15th May, 2009 TurboDave said:

love these, but rick does one of these really out handle a mini? Minis have thier place in being considered to have amazing handling. Basically, on low to mid-speed corners they are amazing, the short wheel base and light weight means that they change direction very quickly. However, on an average B road there are lots of modern cars that will just drive around one. My Legasy is just so much faster on a B road where you need a bit more suspension movement and good damping. Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph
