hey guy, ive just bought a car but its a fair mission 280 miles from where i live and has no tax or test and a smoking engine.

as ive got personal cover, if im with car will i have a problem with the rac if i told them that it broke down.
to look at the cars i great condition ect but do the rac aa ect check that the cars all cosher and then refuse to pick it up.

ive heard of ppl doing this in mini mag and ppc but im not sure of wether it says somthing in the smallprint that i cant do this?

ive called around a few recovery companys and the general figure is £280 which is a fair price but still a lot of money

If its got no tax or MOT I think the RAC will think you are taking the piss -not worth the risk IMO

Given how long most break down services take what is the point in checking to see if the engine is warm?

Somewhere around Swindon

it depends on the owner, if i go to pick up a old lady i dont check, if its a bit of a shit car or chavs i do

the problem you face is that they may send a patrol, the patrol will try and fix the car and look at if its roadworthy, a contractor wont

280 miles also mean that it needs at least 3 relays
