Only as a passenger, never when driving.

When I used to do scuba diving (many years ago) there were some very effective motion sickness pills (ie, for sea sickness) that virtually always worked and were deemed safe for diving (so presumably would be safe for driving too), but I can't remember their name.

My dad had an austin ambassador for about 2 days when i was young, he got shot of it because we all got seasick in it, it had a particualrly spew inducing yaw/ roll motion.

Ive just driven 6 miles with the lad in the front seat and the mrs in the back, he says he needs the window open with his hand sticking out - got to be bollocks, and the Mrs is worst because she has become a nervous passenger since starting to drive herself. Everytime we come upto a roundabout, bend or junction she braces herself for impact, if she could relax surely she'd be OK - so bollocks too.
Its got to the extent that Im rarely allowed to drive cos I 'drive wrong' apparently so Im stuck in the back of the car most of the time.
Really annoying

It must be your driving...

At primary school they used to make us sit on newspaper (honest) to stop it. I guess it was one of those things that we all believed to make us stop feeling sick, proving that its all in the mind

my sister in law gets it bad and she uses these bands that go round your wrists and apply pressure to a particular spot. its meant to work your pressure spot and stop sickness, seems to work for her.

when i'm out on my boat fishing. i eat ginger biscuits to help with sea sickness. ginger is proven to help motion sickness so might be worth a go.
plus they won't be moaning while they feed their faces lol

I'm not sure about travel sickness, but have a little experience of morning sickness! *wink* Try ginger or peppermints, meant to be good for sickness.

I found the best thing for sea sickness was to eat loads, not sure why it works, all I can guess is that if my stomach is full to the brim the contents can't slosh around.

Only suffered it on planes...reading a book normally sorts it out. Guess its just concentrating on anything else.

Reading makes it 10, no 1000, times worse, you are wierd.

I did get it bad as a child and used the bands that have be mentioned and they sort of worked for me. I have never had a problem in cars since I learned to drive. I was also bad on boats until I started working off shore a lot, now I am fine.

It is not all in the head, but thinking about being sick and breathing differently to try and stop feeling sick often makes it worse. Get some sugar pills and tell them they are the best anti sickness non prescription pills on the market. Then go for a drive and test the placebo effect.

I will be trying a placebo. Whenever our son hurts himself, I get some magic waffle dust from my pocket (the fluff that gathers in there) and rub it on where he's hurt - never fails.

I use to get it as a kid and understand about putting his hand out of the window.
I used to do it to direct cold air onto my face and into my lungs.

Even today, If im a passenger I start to feel sick in hot stuffy cars!!

As a nipper I used to get sick, but only on one particular journey to my Aunts, which was via a lot of twisty A and B roads. I did actually spew up a few times. Then one day they made me sit on a brown paper bag on the way there and hey presto no sickness.

The best spew I ever did was in my Dad's Montego. We had just got off the ferry at Southampton and were on out way home. I always sat in the middle with Wil on my left and my sister on my right. When I spewed it was a good one and went all down my mums skirt, all down my dads trousers, but best off all lots of it went straight into the cassette slot of the radio. It never played Chris De Burgh again......
