Are these any good?

http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/...hop-bench-press

I was thinking of getting one using the money I would spend at a garage replacing press fit bearings on my daily driver.

I know I could take just the hub to a garage to get the bearing swapped but I want to get the job done in a day either at a garage or DIY on a weekend.

It's expensive, but so is garage labour and my thinking was it would be useful for mini wheel bearings as well, but I don't want to spend on one if they are not what they appear to be.

Edit to add - the rears need doing now and maybe the fronts soon hence the high labour cost

Come to my house and use my press?

They are no good for mini bearings either, these are easy enough to install without a press anyway.

I have a seally press virtually identical at work and its not a bad press, only thing i have found is that the frame wasn't square when it arrived and we've had it about 8 months now and the thing leaks oil like mad. might just be that we have a duff one

I can't really recommend the bigger clarke stuff. I have a clarke work bench and it's rubbish, I could have made a better one from mechano. I also have a clarke roller tool box. It's not bad, but I've damaged one of the rollers by sitting back on it by accident. Didn't take much damaging. *oh well*

My old clarke Mig is OK though...

I have home made stuff for mini bearings that makes them really easy to do, but was trying to help justify the cost of the press :)

Thanks for the offer Tom, I'll be in touch.

Make you own, bottle jack and some angle.
Or pick up a second hand fly press which can be used used for punching and forming too.
