metro rims are pretty big offset, something like ET 35,

you "might" get away with the et22 rims that they do, but they may stick out too far.

can you lay your hands on a set of sportspack mini wheels? these are et22 ish, albeit 6" wide, whey should give an indication of what will fit.

Or, drop a wheel off, put a ruler against the hub and a plumb line down from the top of the arch and post the results for front and back.

on the metty the fronts arnt too much of a problem, but the rears can vanish right into the arch on full bump so you have to make sure they wont hit.

Ok thanks for the info, the standard rims have scrubbed a couple of times so i did think it would be a bit of an issue though they do have pretty beefy tires.

Don't forget that the later Metros (88 on?? ) had smaller hubs so that the wheels didn't stick out as far.

We had to put them on the van so that the cross wire wheels where inside the arches.

The older ones have a longer centre where the bearing and hub nut sits, this pushes the wheel further out of the arch. The drums and I think the bearings are diffent too. We had to swap the hubs when we put the cross wires on the van.

This is the older tipe with the centre stuck right out:

With the wheel on, they where virtually catching the arch when it was back on the ground.

This is the later hub, they have much flatter drum:

You can see they put the wheel much further into the arch:

Sorry about the crap pics, they are all I can find. Can get more for a propper comparison if you like.

That makes sense Andy as i was looking at it today and i thought the wheels were quite 'set in' as it were, would you say i'd be ok running the 7J's on et22 with smaller tyres then?

We had to put 185/50 13" tyres on in the end as the rear tyres where catching on the rear of the arch, even more so with the body kit fitted. The van is bent though...

Wouldn't like to comment on the offset as it's not my area of expertise

Andy you numpty, the extra lug sticking out of the centre is only there to take shear stresses off the origional studs, the geo is the same as all mini /early metro

I'll take your word for that Carl. The other reason for changing them was because the early 'lug' bit poked out of where the wheel centre should have been.

Are the offsets different on the late crosswire wheels to the earlier wheels??
