Hello,

I have some parts for sale for a K series 8V twincam conversion. I started to collect them a while ago but now I'm selling them because I got a 16V head.

As you can see the package consists of:

1 BMW K100 8V cylinder head incl. cams, valves, bucket tappets, etc.
1 rocker cover
4 BMW K100 conrods and pistons (just 1 in the picture)
1 throttle body assembly

To be more precise all parts on the picture.

I'd like to get 180 pound including shipping to UK. But make me an offer.

Best Regards

not trying to hijack the thread but is there much power gains using the 8valve head? compared to the standard head and the 16v?

also are the 8v and 16v heads interchangable?

But you are hi-jacking it.

Put a separate post up or do some searching.

Do you want the head or not ?

Minivanless, but reluctantly happy living with the decision. There'll be another one day.

Well, about three(?) years ago I heard about this a-series twincam conversion for the first time. I found a website of a guy from canada(?) who propably built the first a-series with a bmw k cylinder head. Then I found another website of an guy from australia (Madmatt - he is active on this forum as well I think) with an bmw 16v cylinder head a-series engine.
So things developed and I started to collect parts. In the meantime quite a lot of this engines were built and even kits were offered ( e.g. specialists components).

To answer you question(s) I'd like to give you a link to a post on the efi minis forum where you'll find a lot more information on this task.

Paul S plans to fit one to a +0.120" 998 with an 850 crank and custom thrusts. I'm not sure how heavy the pockets need to be an a standard bore 850 but Paul would be able to clarify. As far as I know, the smallest bore this head has been put on without pockets is 998 +0.100" (possible by MiniMadMatt from Aus)

Yes - the first conversion was done with an 850.
Search for "Mini Twincam Conversion" on google - first link will direct you to the first BMW K Series Mini ever.

Well, the original was done on an 850 by Greg Temken. He did not pocket the block.

BUT, he used a huge offset overbore. I decided that it would be best to start with the 998 block because the bore walls are thicker to start with.
