For those of you who are NOT using an SPI/MPI tank with the pump built in, but are using an external pump, where is your preferred location and any reasons for/against from experience ???

I'm thinking under the boot floor for pump/filter (like a lot of modern cars) but I think some of you put it inside the boot ???

The fact I'm using injection means the pump output pressure will be regulated higher and there isn't a real seal between boot and passenger cell hence my first thoughts of under car but, I'm using an inertia switch in the supply line so is it really an issue ???

Obviously putting them in the boot would make access/repairs easier and they won't rust away....

EDIT - reason for asking, I've finally finished welding and want to run the fuel lines tommorow...

Shropshire.

if using the bosch pump just make sure its mounted lower than the tank, i mounted mine on the rear fire wall and it struggled to flow, moved it into the wheel well and its fine.

the one on the metro van is under neath, a bit lower than the fuel tank. Fitted there for simplicity's sake

mine will be in the boot, under the cut out in the tank where the wheel would fit as there will be no space where the subframe is *happy*

Yes i moved to the darkside *happy*

sallys gap. garden of Ireland

below on the subbie.

its quieter,
easy to get at (esp when in a hurry and used crap jubliee clips for your T;piece, and dumped 10 ltr of fuel in your birds driveway slopeing towards the house!! on a long weekend when her parents are comming over!!)

Standard pluming makes it easy.

Oh and more space for things in the boot.
