anyone happen to be more clued up on current mobiles than me?

just looking at ordering a new one on a contract as i'm still on pay as you go with a pretty std nokia.

from what i can gather my choices are between a nokia 5800, samsung jet, nokia n86, samsung tocco...

which is the best out of those 4? i'm leaning towards the samsung jet as i've heard battery life is rubbish on the n86. main features i want are wi-fi and to be able to get on ebay if i'm at santa pod (missed too many bargains by not being at my pc)

cheers, Nick.

Im tempted by an HTC phone....stilol baffled as to whats what though.

The magic would be nice if it was a gay white. No way wil I own a white phone.

For santa pod...Ive found mobile signal is crap, so that will limit any data connectivity unless SP offer free wifi

I'm gonna go for a nokia 5800 at the end of the week, I've had a play with one and it seemed pretty good.

I have had enough of sony ericssons being crap, and had 2 die completely for no reason.

I've just got an HTC touch pro 2 on vodafone. I had a V1615 before which is apparently an HTC handset and lasted 18months of my abuse without many issues.

For some reason i don't like the blackberry handsets that much

i've got a 5800 and its been really good. dont use it much as i have a blackberry curve but i've had it 9months now so a fair while. i'd go for it. get some screen protectors straight away though from ebay. mine still looks like new.

I've had an iPhone for around 5 or 6 months now and I'm still not bored of it.

I definately would never need another phone, can use eBay and many many other applications with ease.

Obviously it completely depends on an individuals taste but I would say go in to a few phone shops and try out the handsets your drawn between.

Just got the HTC Hero... great phone :)
It arrived in a nice graphite grey colour.
Loads of apps available for it.
Interchangeable memory cards so loads of scope for files etc...
I am paying £20 a month for it with unlimited texts and internet and 200 minutes of yapping time.

Bargain.

Ive got an n86 8MP and i cant fault it its a great phone without being to complicated and the 8mp camera is really impressive. ive used it to get a few ebay bargains recently when out, but the small screen can get a little annoying.
still it does everything i need it to do and the battery will last a couple of days usually but it depends how much you use it it will last about a day if you use it as an mp3 player for the majority of the day but i think thats to be expected.
i also have garmin sat nav on it and i find myself using it quite often.

hope this helps

Nokia everytime. My brother works for the firm that makes the chips that are in almost everything ellectrical. He used to work in support looking after mobile phone manufacturers. Nokia's developers where really good and turned out really good software, the other brands where miles behind.
