I think these are the FIRST ever B&W pictures i've posted on the net, and your not asking for colour Dennis lol, i don't know, you can't please some people

Well i'm hopeing it's all ok TBH, it all (apart from the slipping clutch) seemed ok. Added to this i've just had my oil tested by Millers Oils and the results were very interesting, more info on that in the coming months, as i'm doing a feature on this and not fair to give details before it's out as working hardf now on the write up!, but will keep you ALL posted 100% when i can.

you are busted having used a hammer on the flywheel before though

i find it incredible what these oil analysis' shows up, recently a freind of the family had his subaru 22b engine rebuilt etc

well it ran like shit, oil press probs, smokey turbo's etc etc

he sent an oil sample to a chap in the states, and they came back to say how many ppm of various substances there was in the oil, and the likely cause

in short on this engine, the monkey who bolted it together has overdone it on the silicone gasket stuff, this had blocked various galleries, deteriated the oil etc, worn the bearings out, leading to high levels of bearing material etc, and he also detected a relatively high level of titanium which he believed to be the turbo bearing wearing or some such

OMG miniminor63, you have super eyes! lol, yes i hold my hands up, many moons ago i thought it would be an easy way to use a big cub hammer on it, but my aim ways 100% as you can see, lol, i feel you may have done this to, as you spotted it :):)

Bill Sollis did the exact same thing on the 1380 build DVD, but they cut it away. It really is not a good thing to do, as it will bend the crank.

I have at least two transfer housing which look like that, I broke one of them myself when I was young and stupid, the other one I got like that.

In my youth I finished off at least 3 transfer gear casings trying to get flywheels off. Then I bought a puller!
