I have a 40A Denso alt that I got off Matty fitted to my car. It is wired asper the link that Joe posted:

http://www.sbdev.co.uk/Info_sheets/Alterna...nstructions.htm

It is connector type 4 from the diagram, again posted by Joe:
http://www.turbominis.co.uk/forums/index.p...t&tid=2995&fr=0

I have the two big brown wires from the original alternator going to the B pillar. I then have a wire from the B pillar to the Sense terminal.

I initially had a loop between the Ignition and Light terminals of the alt plug with the original thin brown wire connected in this loop. This worked perfectly well for a couple of months but since I done the engine swap it is no longer charging.

I swapped it for another brand new alternator and it is still not charging. I then gave the Ignition terminal an ignition live from the fuse box instead of looping from the Light terminal and still no joy
l
Can anybody see a possible problem with my wiring? I'm stumped as it did work fine for a few months

Get a multi meter across the alternator body and the negative on the battery, To check the casing is earthed correctly, might just not be erathed very well, I had this after an engine swap and i had painted the brackets. Simple and worth a check.

Got A GTM With A Honda In the Back, and huge Nitrous bottle where the passenger seat should be when racing!

Thanks for that. It makes sense as a possible problem as I didn't change anything else I can think of

If no take the light wire off the alternator and earth it out on the engine and the light will come on if it is not lit the bulb is blow or you have lose the ign feed to the lamp
