Hello, still trying to tidy up the few wiring issues I have with the mini and the last one is a fairly thick yellow wire with an inline fuse near the bulkhead. The end has broke off mine and it isn't attatched to anything but I don't know what it should go to and I can't find anything similar in the wiring diagrams that I have. According to the diagrams the only line fused wire in the car is for the interior light but that is purple/orange and mine is yellow. It's a long shot but does anyone happen to know what it's for/ where it goes?

Any help appreciated!

according to my diagrams, the only solid yellow wire is for the rear lights.
is it possible its a later addition to the loom?
does it go into the main loom (under the tape)?
what year is your mini?

Yes i moved to the darkside *happy*

It's a '79 mini 1000, it's not in with the main loom and goes into or comes out of the back of the intrament binicle near the fuse box. It could have been added by a previous owner I guess, the only things that don't work on the car is the interior light and the hazzards but thats due to something else I think. I am trying to fix it before the carb/manifold goes back on as its easier to fix now, but if I can't fix it then no biggy!

perhaps its the one that connects the back loom to the main loom. Its normally red though. Someone may have messed. Take the fuse and see what stops working!

There's an in line fuse to the interior light I think? But from memory that's lilac/white.

It's yellow and it's separate from the main loom, that doesn't match anything in the diagrams. I'm pretty sure it's not the interior light as it's the wrong colour plus it is rather thick with a 30amp fuse.

I think after I've had some fun driving the car for a few months it's getting it's pants pulled down and getting a thorough rebuild, with a new loom for a start!

It's not something daft like the radio is it? Added after it came out of the factory?

Actually, yous guys might be right, it could be the radio. Hmmm, that would make sense. It used to have one too. I think that solves that mystery, nice work guys!:)
