Just a quicky.

Want to fit a roof aerial to my estate, but was puzzling how the headlining comes out?

Dont want to damage it as its mint, so thought id ask before attacking it.

So any tips and pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers, Oli.

King Gaycharger, butt plug dealer, Sheldon Cooper and a BAC but generally a niceish fella if you dont mind a northerner

Rotherham, South Yorkshire

They usual sit under the door and screen seals with lots of horrible glue. not a fun job getting a 30 year old head lining out, even less fun if you want it in one piece!

there's 2 different types i think, keans is the same sort as a saloon with the bars and all the glue under the screen seals whereas antons is in 2 parts and comes out on a frame iirc.

Oli.

Disconnect battery, remove interior light unit and poke the wires up through the headlining.

To remove the front section, undo the two self tapping screws which hold the rear sides of the front headlining section into the headlining rails of the car, one screw per side, about in-line with the interior light unit.

Then, spring these rear legs down off the rail, into the centre of the car.

The very last frame rung of the front section (by the interior light unit) has 3 welded in clips which fit over the first frame member of the rear section of headlining.

Unclip these as you pull the headlining back off the front rail above the windscreen.

Remove both sun visors if you need to gain access but you shouldn't have to.

The headlining should fall down in one tug.

Replacing it is the reverse but it can be a bitch.

When you drill the hole, you need to come back about 6 inches from the drip rail over the windscreen otherwise the underside of the aerial lead will touch the headlining.

You should be able to feed the areial lead down the winscreen A pillar if you use a bit of wire first then drag the aerial lead down by attaching the wire.

Drop me a bell if probs.

Good luck.

Richard.

Minivanless, but reluctantly happy living with the decision. There'll be another one day.
