This is good news, but am I the only person to feel slightly dissapointed that it didn't go to Donington?

It fears me to say probably

Although Donington would have had better transport links, and you've got to feel bad for the effort they must have put in.

Fingers crossed that Silverstone can be improved now it apparently has it for 17 years

I'm sure that the only people to have missed out are a load of Bankers trying to make a profit.

I'm glad it is staying where it belongs.

This is good news but I must say that the best news announced previously was to see that F1 will be back in Montreal in 2010.

You are not wrong, one of the best races on the calendar, never a boring race.

I think its certainly good that there will still be a F1 round in Britain.

However I'm also a bit disappointed that Donington didn't get their act together.
I went and did a trackday at Silverstone a couple of months ago and it has to be said the whole feel of the place, from the facilities to the general upkeep simply blows Donington out of the water. It would certainly be nice for Donington to be updated and improved to the same level.
The only other plus side for Donington is that they will now leave the track alone and not mess about with the Craners!

They never planned to touch craner curves, but they have already dug lots of holes so I wonder what will happen now. It is a shame that they lost the MOTO GP, next year could be difficult for them.

Having been to Silverstone for the last 4 years IMO they do a good job.. but its not as flash as the stuff abroad...

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

Went to my first F1 at Silverstone this year, thinking it might be my last chance to go there! Brilliantly organised though, only grpes are it's difficult to have a decent view of much of the circuit, and of course the inevitable queues getting out.

Needless to say, I'll be booking tickets for next year when they go on sale...

What concerts are you doing Graham?! Elton John? (£100, the wife went).

Maybe the same price as a festival, yes, though V is 3 days too. The F1 makes my ears hurt more I must admit. Like, really hurt, I've never known anything like it!

Yes would have been nice to see an F1 car go round the new bit of Donnington, supposed to be steeper than au rouge (sp?).

Glad there is still a British GP though, Bernie Ecclescake made the right decision.

Well say £50 a ticket for 2 hours for a concert. if you went for three nights £150...
