hi , i bought some racing EX valves they are single groove. and the old one is triple groove. do i need change the cap as well?

the middle ones are old school, i think the 998 coopers (295) sported that type

basically they have a huge single groove, and held on the valve by a 'r' circlip, apparently not very good for hi revs

i had a cracked retainer on my 1098 it was the middle type with the large single grove
